Hello Rainmakers,

We see this as a community forum. A space where we look in more detail at what Rainmakers are doing, where they fit in, how they work, how they change, and how they win.

Clearwater are winners. They did exceptionally well at our recent awards, winning their team of the year category in all three regions.

And one of their winners was so successful he was away doing a deal when his award was presented.

So what’s behind the winning culture?

We’ve got insights from inside the business, and from the leadership team, but of course the biggest vote of confidence was from their peers.

Rainmakers is a reader-supported publication. If you hit the button below you’ll get access to all of our back catalogue of investigations, scoops, and insights. Including courtroom dramas like the Inc & Co contempt case and Richard Hughes vs HMRC. To receive new posts and support our work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

They have won big at Rainmakers, our awards, but I claim not to know. Afterall, it’s not a decision I make, or have any influence over. Being selected as either an individual, team or deal winner at our Rainmakers Awards is entirely down to the community, who use their one vote per qualifying firm to ensure that the decision is one of consensus and rooted in evidence.

And by any measure, twenty years since they were founded as a buyout from accountancy group Tenon, Clearwater are winners.

In Yorkshire the overall Rainmaker of the Year went to Richard Goldsack from their Leeds-based team, which also lifted the award for “national” team operating locally.
